The Bulova Watch and Clock Company is most well-known for its Accutron Spaceview watch made in the 60’s and 70’s. While their watches continue to be what defines Bulova as a company, they also make quality quartz clocks. These clocks come in a wide range, from oversized wall clocks to chiming mantel. A quartz clock is a clock that uses an electronic oscillator that is regulated by a quartz crystal to keep time. They are all battery powered and should last many years before needing repairs.
When these clocks do need repairs, and new batteries will no longer make the clock keep time, the most common is replacing the movement on the back of the clock. This repair is more frugal than repairing individual parts of the movement that may have gone out, because the work is labor-intensive and parts are difficult to find. And once it is repaired, there is no guarantee that what was fixed was actually the problem. Simply replacing the movement is the easiest, cheapest, and most thorough way to fix most problems the clock will have.
